Understand a Tenancy Record Lookup

Read matches, no results and unavailable sources correctly. Understand WeCredit’s four source categories, court mentions, premises licences and corrections.

Quick answer

A match is information to verify. No results means no matching data was returned for that search. An unavailable source means its data could not be obtained; it must not be described as a clean result.

Result states

Four categories are not one rating

WeCredit covers reviewed community records, bankruptcy records, legal-case mentions and government premises licences. Each describes a different matter. Premises licences concern an address or business name, rather than a personal background score.

Check context before drawing conclusions

  • Compare the spelling and appropriately obtained identifying details.
  • Read the event and retrieval dates separately.
  • For a judgment, identify the person’s role and what the case actually decided.
  • Retain the source reference and request correction when something is inaccurate.

Separate absence from failure

Do not treat an unavailable source as proof there is no record. Similarly, a successful search with zero matches is not proof that a person is risk-free. Check the current pricing page and the actual search screen for charges or an exceptional result.

Hypothetical example

Three sources respond and one is unavailable. Record all four statuses separately; do not describe the unavailable source as having no records.

Frequently asked questions

Does a name in a judgment mean a conviction?

No. Read the role, proceedings and outcome and first exclude mistaken identity.

Can a premises licence rate a tenant’s reliability?

No. The source concerns premises or businesses, not a personal credit rating.

How do address and name searches differ?

Choose search conditions for the source. A premises licence concerns an address or business, not a person’s credit or reliability; a name result may identify someone else. Verify the relationship between a person, business and address separately rather than treating one match as proof of another.

Does an unavailable source mean no records?

No. Record each source separately as a match, no matches, or unavailable, together with the search time and displayed message. A successful response from another source does not complete the missing one. Use an appropriate official channel for further verification and the support route for charging questions.

How should names and dates in a judgment be read?

Check the date, court, case reference, the person’s role and what the court actually decided. Separate allegations and quoted material from findings. A person may be a party, witness or incidental reference rather than someone convicted; an old document also does not establish present status.

What should a lookup correction request contain?

Identify the source, search time, disputed field and evidence supporting the correction. Send only necessary material through support and retain the original result and response privately. Correcting a platform summary and correcting an authority’s underlying record are separate processes.
